KHU SL Multi rake screen

The KUHN Multi rake screen KHU SL was designed specifically for small and medium flumes and, thanks to its unique properties, offers a robust alternative to basket and spiral screens and flat fine screens. The KHU SL uniquely combines the advantages of a multi-rake screen with outstanding hydraulic properties. Its installation angle is kept very flat, the components simple and highly robust. An enlarged screening surfaces helps minimize losses from screening backups.

  • For small delivery heights and narrow flumes
  • For the greatest possible wastewater throughput levels
  • 45° installation angle
  • Extremely high cleaning velocity of the screen surface
  • Segmented rake combs
  • Fully automated scraper
  • Non-clogging thanks to defined penetration of rake combs in the screen grid
  • Clearing bars with a staggered, alternating tooth system
  • Proven wedge wire technology for preventing screen grid clogging
  • Briefly reverses for self-cleaning of rake grating

KHU KN Multi rake screen

The KHU KN Multi rake screen is a variation of the standard multi-rake screen with a low-slope fixed screen. It uniquely combines both a very low incline of the screen surface with adjustable, high-speed cleaning rates. The KHU KN specifically designed for use in existing flumes. It is particularly suitable for installation where hydraulic problems occur with strong surges of screening quantities. Thanks to the guided and forced penetration the rake combs, the common issue of screen bar clogging can by reliably prevented.

  • For extreme delivery heights and the widest flumes
  • Maximum filtration capacity
  • Additional clearing bars for flushing and sudden rain surges can be retrofitted
  • Optional: two different clearing speeds possible
  • Extremely high cleaning velocity of the screen surface
  • Easily replaceable segmented rake combs made from materials
  • Tempered stainless-steel drive chains (steel chains optional)
  • Brief reversing mode for self-cleaning of the screen grid is possible
  • Guided forced penetration of clearing bars
  • Existing plants can be easily retrofitted
  • Stable system frame with conveniently placed maintenance openings
  • Fully automated cleaning device (no brushes, no washing water consumption)

KSR Step screen

Our KUHN KSR step screens are used mostly at the mechanical purification stage of municipal and industrial sewage treatment plants. Other application areas include the pretreatment of processing liquids (e.g., slaughterhouses, tanneries, fish processing facilities) as well as treatment plants in the paper industry.

  • Gap width 1–6 mm
  • Self-cleaning screen surface
  • High throughput and filtration capacity, minimal losses from screening backups
  • Minimal space requirements
  • Screen frame is constructed as a solid wall profile
  • Three-phase AC motor as drive unit integrated within a separate housing (protection against abrasive and moist wastewater vapor)
  • Chain transmission with automated chain tensioner
  • The drive unit and bearings are located above the waterline
  • Removable covers for hygienic encapsulation above the flume
  • No fixed attachment to channel floor required
  • The machine can be pivoted out of the flume
  • Existing structures can be easily retrofitted
  • Quiet running characteristics

KST Drum screen

Our KUHN KST drum screens do justice to the ever-changing developments and expectations of modern wastewater treatment plant equipment. The hole diameter of the very fine drum screen inside the machine can be adjusted individually. This allows particulate in raw wastewater to be reliably separated out under stable operating conditions.

  • Very fine screening down to 1mm hole size possible
  • The hole width can be adjusted individually
  • A high degree of filling increases the effective filter surface area
  • High throughput rates possible
  • The position of the drainage nozzle can be specified by the costumer
  • The KUHN standard: highly stable, corrosion-resistant components
  • Safe cleaning of the screen cover by the spray nozzle strip and brush strip
  • Optimized rinsing water consumption
  • Automatic change in rotational direction
  • Odor and hygienic encapsulation of the entire machine
  • A modular design for outstanding accessibility
  • Easy replacement of individual components

KGR Knuckle rake screen

The KUHN KGR Knuckle rake screen is especially suitable for installation in a small flume, shafts or pumping stations without any special hydraulic requirements. It can also be installed in existing structures – making additional recesses unnecessary.

The KGR Knuckle rake screen was developed in order to offer our customers an affordable screen alternative featuring excellent KUHN quality.

  • For narrow flumes and shafts
  • Installation in existing flumes is possible
  • It can be lifted from the flume as a single unit together with all attachments and the bar rack
  • Because of its special design, the chain is stable, resistant to corrosion and hard-wearing
  • The clearing paddles are self-centering and clogging of the bar rack largely avoided
  • Fully automated scraper
  • Secure cleaning of the bar rack by forced penetration of the rake combs into the screen grid
  • Easy maintenance and replacement of individual components

KMRA Mobile screening system

The requirements for cleaning plants for wastewater have changed substantially over the years. The ever-increasing growth of cities and municipalities plays as role in that, too, of course. As part of remediation and refurbishment measures at wastewater treatment plants, solutions are required which upgrades and retrofits to be carried out during normal operation.

This is where the KUHN KMRA mobile screening systems can make a difference. During the upgrade project, we can install a temporary screening plant to ensure operation of the treatment plant while all remediation and refurbishment work is completed. Thanks to the carefully planned design and its small footprint, the KMRA units generally require little effort to be setup and put into operation on site.

  • Low costs
  • Work can be carried out during normal operations
  • Not shutdown of the entire plant is necessary
  • Simple transport to and removal from site

KSS Spiral screens

The KUHN KSS Spiral screens represent a new generation of fine-sieve screens. KSS Spiral screens are primarily used at the mechanical purification stage of municipal and industrial sewage treatment plants. Other application areas include the pretreatment of processing liquids (e.g., slaughterhouses, tanneries, fish processing facilities) as well as treatment plants in the paper industry.

  • A straightforward and affordable machine
  • For low and medium flow rates of 60 l/sec
  • Full screenings treatment in one machine (separation, washing, pressing)
  • Shaftless spirals with very thick walls
  • Modular design for extremely easy maintenance
  • An ingenious release system makes changes brushing easy
  • Low energy consumption
  • Machine can be swiveled out of the flume for maintenance
  • High degree of operational reliability due to robust design and top-grade materials
